Every day as I walk to work, I pass by this sweet homeless man who I’ve come to known as Philip. Philip lost his job 10 years ago due to his heart condition and has been panhandling out on the streets ever since to get by. I don’t think I have ever witnessed a more heart-wrenching situation in my life, which is why I want to do everything I can for this poor soul by getting him a shiny, new cardboard sign
Philip served in our military and is hands-down the most positive-minded person I know. He deserves better. A lot better. So let’s all provide him with what he needs the most by giving his musty, old homeless sign a fresh makeover! Philip truly values his sign a lot considering it’s the one thing he’s always holding throughout the day, but Philip is also in desperate need of an upgrade due to all of it’s smudges and the fact that it smells pretty bad. Plus, some of the grammar is wrong, which is not making him look good in front of passersby, so I want to make sure that he appears as professional as can be for the next time he begs for money on the sidewalk.
All of your generous donations will go towards my next trip to Michaels, where I’m looking to buy some colorful markers, scissors, glitter, and of course, premium-grade cardboard. I plan on making his sign really pop and stand out among the rest of the impoverished sign-bearing homeless people in the area. Philip will be overjoyed once he receives his gift. Just the sight of a fresh, new sign with his classic phrases, such as “please help” and “terribly hungry”, is sure to bring tears to his eyes.
I pray that you can open your heart to this wonderful man like I have. Together, we can provide Philip with a beautiful sign that will help him get the food and shelter he so desperately needs. I know that times are tough for all, but we’re really not asking for much. Let’s keep Philip’s spirits high and show him that we care! If we’re blessed enough to exceed our goal, then maybe we can put that extra money towards getting him a few meals from McDonald’s too.
