Like many great artists, I struggle with the need to create something meaningful but lose passion for a project soon after starting it. Yet a few days ago I got this idea for a film that I know will make my last failed relationship worth it. It’s an adventure rom-com film set in a 1990’s high school, sort of like “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and “10 Things I Hate About You” combined. But I’m going to need your help to make it happen. All I’m asking is for $30,000 so that my ragtag team—consisting of my friends and my roommate—and I can get this project off the ground. I’m basing my entire identity right now on this film being a hit, so your contributions would really help me out.

This film, currently called “Untitled Scott Russell Project,” tells the story of love, friendship, teenage dreams, and what you’d be willing to sacrifice to achieve all of those when you accidentally get sucked into a video game universe. It’s an ambitious project, but I feel ready to take it on with the help of my wits, Google, and the one film professor at my college.

A lot of the budget will be going towards buying all of the props that I need from Amazon (I don’t have Prime so it’s going to be a lot). The rest will be split between editing, sets, permits, a bear trainer probably. The entire cast consists of some of my friends who want to be actors but haven’t actually done anything so they’ll probably be cool with being paid in beer. However, the expense of all of those beers and Domino’s are going to add up. Plus, this one hot girl who sort of looks like Aubrey Plaza said that she’d play a part if I pay her $2,000 and honestly this movie so far is really kind of riding on her being in it.

So I’m hoping that I can get your support in making this movie happen. Just know that your donation will help me get one step closer to finally proving to my parents that I’m worth something.

Also I really need a VFX guy, so hit me up if you know someone.
