The Chuckle Shack, which has been serving up laughs in Lexington for over 7 years, has had to close its doors, leaving many of our performers out of work. And like many businesses across the country, we have set up a financial relief fundraiser for our dedicated performers. They would really appreciate your donations during this difficult time, mostly because this would mean that they could finally get paid for the work that they’ve done at the club.

We’re not asking for a lot. They don’t need the money to make ends meet. Most of them have day jobs because they sure as shit don’t make any money here, but that’s why this pandemic is a great time for us to finally give them the compensation that they deserve. And anyone who donates $25 or more will get a free Chuckle Shack t-shirt. Don’t worry about us running out because we ordered a lot and haven’t been able to sell them.

Now don’t think that we don’t pay our performers at all for their monthly shows, of course not. In exchange for bringing out a packed audience, we make sure that everyone on the show gets two free drinks and, if we’re feeling nice, a basket of fries to split. Unfortunately it’s impractical for us to mail them all beer and bar food, so giving them money seems like the next best thing to do.

We really hope that we can count on your generous donation so that our club can show its creatives that we care. But hey, even if this fundraiser doesn’t meet its goal, at least all of the comedians will get good exposure out of it.
