So, obviously I didn’t want Trump to win or anything, but I’ve been thinking about moving to Canada since 2016 and I feel pretty set on it at this point. When Trump was elected for the first time, I told myself that I was gonna get on the first plane to Canada and even checked out their Visa website. It turns out though, moving there takes a lot of effort and is expensive for a nineteen-year-old college student. But now that I’m more settled in my life, I promised everyone that I would actually move to Canada this time if Trump won. I’m glad that Biden is going to help heal our nation and whatever, but I’m still kind of on board with this whole Canada plan. It’s so beautiful there, and they don’t have racism.

I’m not saying that I wished that Trump got re-elected—of course not, that’d be a totally bad thing to say—but it would’ve been pretty convenient for me since I’m practically living in Canada mentally. I spent the entire red mirage night reading articles like, “10 Best Things to do in Vancouver” and even followed #visitcanada on Instagram, so I was a bit bummed out when Biden won.

I really want to get out of this country and I hope that you can help me to do so. I just, like, can’t handle all of the drama every day. People in Canada are much nicer and that’s definitely going to keep my overall vibe positive. Plus, this country is so ugly (even though I’ve only been in the state of New York—mostly the city, and one time I drove through New Jersey) but I haven’t seen any pretty pictures of America. We have the Statue of Liberty and those rocks with the presidents’ faces on it, but that’s kind of it. Canada has so many nice mountains and lakes and cool-looking buildings. I think it’d really help my mental health to be there.

Basically, I’m going to need money for my plane ticket, my first month’s rent and security deposit, plus some extra money so I can go out to bars and make friends. I hope that you can help me get out of this place, despite the fact that it’s in much better hands now, because I’m just really looking forward to becoming a full-time Canuck!
