Let me say straight up that I am truly blessed to be working for JumpKick and love all of my managers as well as the executive team. You can’t put a price on the experience I am getting here, but unfortunately, the rest of the things that I need in life have a price on them. And a 60-hour unpaid internship with no benefits (not even access to the bathroom key) makes it challenging for me to keep up with my bills. So I’m hoping you all can give back to those who help keep this wonderful site running by donating and helping me actually get paid for my work!

Just know that I’m not criticising JumpKick at all for not paying me, despite things such as frequent overtime and making me do questionably legal things (it’s probably fine, don’t worry). There are a lot of costs in running the site and they only take just 5% of every fundraiser. I’m sure they need an unpaid intern doing all the copyediting and standing outside in the JumpKick mascot costume while handing out fliers. We’re building something here that will really help the world and make lives better. It would be selfish of me to want any equity in that. And I know that networking is important in this game, so paying with my credit card for that company party hosted by Usher was probably a good call. Although I’m not sure why it seemed to only be a cash bar for me.

I should also mention how thankful I am to JumpKick for letting me do this campaign. It shows just how much they support their intern. They even gave me a break on how much in fees they’re taking from this: only 4.5% instead of the usual 5%! Plus they let me write it up during my 15-minute lunch break on my phone. I would have preferred if they let me take off my mascot costume during it so that I could type better, but still, I’m so blessed to be a part of this family. I just hope this campaign gets a lot of support so I don’t have to keep making these every month.
